Chief Marketing Officer

About the role Woodstock is looking for a self driven full-time Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), to lead the branding, public relations, communication and marketing strategy & plans of the fund. As the CMO, reporting to the General Partner, you will own our WS brand, with the responsibility to design the overall marketing roadmap for the fund across media channels, leveraging your media relationships to build, strengthen and scale our brand globally with a focus on deep roots in India.

What you'll do

  • Brand & Positioning:
    • Build and scale our WS brand as a strategic competitive advantage, building a brand of choice for investors and investees
    • Shape and communicate our vision and mission
    • Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies with a targeted audience approach
  • Communication & Public Relations:
    • Leverage the Web 3 communities and media channels, including events, to strengthen our brand presence, creating visibility & thought leadership
    • Build and execute a strong Communications Strategy & Plan, internally & externally
    • Define our Value Proposition and work closely with the HR team to embed its elements to strengthen our culture
    • Coach and prepare our WS leaders for external events
  • Marketing & growth for Portfolio companies:
    • Set marketing goals and milestones, execute impactful marketing campaigns for WS on a global and national scale
    • Advise individual investees, running programs, making connections & driving outcomes
    • Plan, implement and manage marketing strategy
    • Identify & work closely with agencies to execute on marketing plan
  • Scope includes Global, emerging technology and network of relationships

Job requirements and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing/ Brand/ Communication leadership roles.
  • Should have led brands, campaigns & marketing strategies to drive outcomes.
  • Strong Communications background, Public Relations experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in building and scaling a start up brand is preferred.
  • Relevant understanding of/ experience with CRM and SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google AdWords, HubSpot, WebTrends, Salesforce, etc.
  • Self driven & passionate, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • MBA in Marketing, Management or similar relevant field preferred.
  • Some experience/knowledge of blockchain/VC/ Web 3 space is good to have.
  • Role will be based out of UAE (preferable)/ India, mostly remote working, in/outside country travel expected.

Research Associate

About the role Woodstock is looking at a research associate to join its Investments and Research team. As a member of the team, you will learn about blockchain, venture capital, meet inspiring entrepreneurs, and get exposure to emerging technologies and products.

What you'll do

  • Stay updated with industry news plus grants, hackathons, and accelerator programs to find early-stage companies as per the fund’s thesis and build a network of sources. Develop a keen point of view on investment in various categories and companies. Work on well-rounded and informed theses.
  • Connect with prospective investments and entrepreneurs on calls. Carry out extensive due diligence of their product, business plan, go-to market strategy, token economics, team, competitive position, and the like.
  • Take up complete ownership of the deal – from introduction, due-diligence, financial modeling, investment notes, investment committee presentations to closing. Act as the primary point of contact for portfolio company management. Provide ongoing support to portfolio companies.
  • Engage in building financial models and token models, write and publish research articles to build thought leadership in the space.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in a blockchain, traditional finance, venture capital, or product management role.
  • Genuine interest and belief in blockchain and digital assets’ value propositions and deeply optimistic about the future of Web 3.0.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Analytical and organized mind with remarkable attention to detail.

Security Engineer

About the role The primary responsibility of this role is for Woodstock Fund’s security-related services.

Key responsibilities for this role include

  • Proactively monitor/review smart contracts of portfolio companies and corresponding important third-party partnerships for vulnerabilities
  • Conduct security reviews for portfolio companies
  • Work directly with the external blockchain developers to audit their code and secure their products including smart contracts, protocols and dapp.
  • Conduct security research and publish findings in technical blog posts / conferences.
  • Improve our processes and offering and strive for the satisfaction of our clients
  • Contribute to our internal security tools and create new ones that help improve the security services by following good engineering practices.

Tech Developer

About the role The primary responsibility of this role is to engage with Woodstock’s portfolio companies from a technology perspective.

The key tasks associated with this role include -

  • Building and maintaining a development report/dashboard for tracking developer growth across major ecosystems
  • Tracking code and product progress of all portfolio companies
  • Helping teams on development tasks
  • Sharing insights for improvement
  • Contributing to our internal tools and create new ones
  • Following all partnerships formed and integrations made by portfolio companies

We are looking to hire someone with a full-stack development skill set, and expect the candidates to have the ability to write robust code, analyse data, present insights, build relationships, and provide value end-to-end. The role will help the individual build great connections, work on various new technologies, and understand the blockchain development space.

Requirements

  • Passion for blockchain tech and development
  • Proficiency in at least one frontend and one backend language, besides basic understanding of C, C++, Java, Python, and JavaScript
  • Bachelors or above in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field
  • Prior experience in independent development
  • Familiarity with API integrations, GitHub, and CICD pipeline
